Reflection
Reflection is the unpacking of mental boxes. We sometimes need to dig deep into the past to understand why we make the choices that impact our mental state.
-
Repentance
It is turning away from a vice or sin. This occurs once we understand a negative behavior and what may have caused it. Repentance can only take place when you know that a behavior is wrong.
-
Reconciliation
We return to a neutral place to share communion with God and our neighbors. This involves asking for forgiveness for wrongs that we have committed and accepting forgiveness from others for the harm we have experienced.
-
Community
The community and body of the Church and the resources that she provides. These are access to the sacraments and the sacramentals that can help our spiritual growth.
-
Service
The act of serving one another and the Church. This is getting involved with ministry or just participating in small groups. Eventually we hope that spiritual growth leads to leadership.
Small Groups in the Church
Small groups in the Church are a great way to minister to participants on an intimate level. The key to intimacy is trust. Many small groups formed in the Church today will not grow beyond six months.
